TJM Vice President Reverend Larry Nielsen spent 28 years with the Hamilton County Ohio Sheriff Patrol, retiring as Patrol Section Commander. He is Executive Director of Love INC of Harrison, Pastor of Integrity Gospel Church in St. Leon IN and Pastor of Shawneespring Community Church in Harrison, OH. Larry is a graduate of Roger Bacon High School and the Southern Police Institute at University of Louisville. He holds a B.A. in Leadership and Management from Trinity College of the Bible and currently enrolled in The Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond. Larry has been a Jail Chaplain since 2003, and is a member of the Cincinnati Chapter of the National Association of Church Business Administrators; a member of the American Society on Aging; and is active in the Southeast Indiana Emmaus Community. He and his wife, Teri, are lifelong residents of the Cincinnati area. Larry is a founding member of Transforming Jail Ministries and is the author of Thinking About Jail and Prison Ministries: A Guide for the Lay Volunteer.

TJM Treasurer Charlene Calhoun has been a Jail Chaplain in Hamilton County since 1982.  She holds an Associates Degree in Chemistry from the University of Cincinnati and retired as a Research Chemist from Procter & Gamble in 2007 after 27 years of service.  Charlene has been a volunteer chaplain with University Hospital since 1985 and a Team Leader for CBC foreign mission team in Haiti since 1997.  She is a volunteer with the Avondale Community Watch Program.  Charlene is a founding member of Transforming Jail Ministries.

TJM board member Mike Ehrensberger is president of Leveraged Solutions, Inc., a Cincinnati based consulting company focused on the training and development of sales professionals. He has been an active supporter of TJM since its founding. Mike, a life-long resident of Cincinnati, is a graduate of St. Xavier High School and has a Bachelor of Science degree and MBA degree from the University of Cincinnati. He brings a wealth of business and management experience to our board that we feel is needed as TJM moves beyond the founding stage of our ministry.

TJM board member Dryden Jones has served as a worship team member since 1994 and a jail chaplain in Hamilton County since 2008.  His focus is application of scripture  to men's recovery processes. Dryden has worked in the healthcare field for 20 years and for over 10 years with Xavier University. He holds a BA degree from Rollins College and an MBA from Xavier. He currently is a business manager with Cincinnati State Technical and Community College where he has also served as adjunct faculty since 1993. He and his wife Wendy attend Sonrise Church and have 4 children and 4 grandchildren.

TJM board member, Howard E. Martin, Jr. worked for 33 years at WKRC retiring as Chief Engineer in 2004. He served as a volunteer jail chaplain for 15 years and helped trained other volunteer in the jail chaplains during this time. In 2001, he was instrumental in making it possible to broadcast the Billy Graham Mission to prisoners in Hamilton County.  Howard also serves as the Children's Church Pastor at Inspirational Baptist Church. He, and his wife Ida, have 2 children.

TJM board member, Rev. Dr. Jocelyn Roper, is the assistant to the District Superintendent in the Ohio River Valley District of the United Methodist Church.  She earned her B.S. from Central State University and Doctorate of Missiology (2010) from United Theological Seminary.  Her dissertation was entitled

Love First: Building Bridges between United Methodists and Muslims in the 21st Century. She has pastored a number of churches including Mt. Healthy United Methodist Church and, currently, Deerfiled UMC in the Greater Cincinnati area.  Jocelyn was born and raised in Springfield, Ohio; she is the mother of 5 children and grandmother of 2.  In her spare time she enjoys watching the History Channel, the Biography Channel, PBS and the Discovery Channel.




At Large TJM  board member Roman Walton spent over 30 years with Cincinnati Public Schools, both in administration and teaching. Born in Wake County, North Carolina, Roman relocated to Cincinnati in 1960 and has served the community in a number of ways.  He holds a B.A. Education from Shaw University and an M.A. Educational Administration from the University of Cincinnati.  He has furthered his graduate studies at the University of Cincinnati, Xavier University, Nova University and Florida Institute of Technology.  Roman has served as a Math Tutor for Losantiville School; a Breakfast Club Teacher for Windsor and Taft Elementary Schools; and a Board Member, Housing Projects for Recovering Females, Rescue Temple Church. Roman is also a Host for Interfaith Hospitality Network at Walnut Hills Baptist Church.  He and his wife, Ada, live in Amberly Village and attend Kenwood Baptist Church.  They have four children and nine grandchildren and enjoy gardening, singing and antiques.
